Re: Surface tow, foot launch release opinions.
Is the risk of tumbling the same as in AT by being towed by the keel as Tow don't need an important forwarded anchor? I'm not sure your answer concerned surface towing by 2 points (with no Hewett system). So I try again. In the example of Greg surface towing by 2 points (video), what happens if the...

Re: Releases
LMFP Release I sent 3 times this email to fly@hanglide.com without any answer !!! : Hello I recently purchased one of your Aerotow Primary Releases for use in aerotowing tandem gliders. We conduct a tandem aerotowing operation just south of Paris, France. We have been having considerable trouble re...

Re: Surface tow, foot launch release opinions.
Mosquito throttle control in your teeth I don't know how it works: release by biting or opening the mouth?. Seems to me hard to manage reliably while continuing to breath without drooling and bite his lips when it gets tense.. 0:34 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7CP-hk9ZZE http://www.youtube.com/w...
Re: Releases
Is that an assumed or tested value? I usually get around 92 kg for a double - much less than twice a single. I'm not happy with multiple loops because they're less predictable than singles. The way I tested first was 120kg: a double through a ring and in a quick link on the other side. I just teste...

Re: Surface tow, foot launch release opinions.
Tad, I'm here too. Some friends start a school towing activity.. I had a look on their pics and video. But before I would you to clarify the release(s) options in the different ways to be towed. If the tow angles are staying low you can use AT equipment. Which kind of tow is it exactly ? school trai...
Re: Releases
I asked questions as it comes. For our tandem bridle system.. I put a double loop of greenspot 130lb on the upper side: 120kg/1,15 * 2 = 209kg, and will install at the bottom a +20% wl: a bridlelink n°9 (147kg) (with 9 stitches and 3 on the other side). n°9 is right in this case? Way to release a ba...
Re: Releases
Thank you again for you availability and our exchange.. What is your final OD : 10mm maybe. I will use a thick walled (+2.4mm) heat shrink 3:1 rather than the glue operation.. easier. Vectran seems to me a good idea as it slide better than the leechline in wrapped dyneema and is thick enough to stab...
Re: Releases
Barrel release I beveled the tubing ends and don't close too much, that's good. I'd like to change the leechline for a Vectran as you can see on my pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/psucvollibre/5892274700/in/set-72157627094219654 https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5304/5892274700_b08258a2e6_z.jpg (it...
Re: Releases
Tad, I will take time to study your proposed modification of our tug release and will come back for this. BARREL RELEASE Now, I think I missed something to have the right L/A barrel release even after change my prehistoric tools.. At 50kg, it seems to me too strong. My aluminium tube is not the same...
