Re: Releases

3. It appears that he has a lanyard going to the barrel. that's just a rubber to keep the nail inside the barrel until you release, I think Another string, tight on the front side of the barrel, should allow to push too. I understand what you're saying, but not how you're thinking of configuring. l...

Re: Releases

http://www.delta-club-82.com/forum/images/divers/louis5.gif Look at the green, it is a tube around the swivel, and the red rope is tight with a hole on it. Then you release as a barrel. Another string, tight on the front side of the barrel, should allow to push too. I observe that Wichard aren't re...

Re: Weak links

In a situation in which a weak link NEEDS to blow (which you should have released from a long time ago) all bets regarding weight and which way is down are off. really good.. So that's why you don't consider the weight of the pilot but only the breaking load of each glider is there an easy way to d...

Re: Releases

FRENCH TOUCH Look at 2 "french" ways to set up a 1 point Wichard (wl on the tow line between ring and a quicklink) No mechanical advantage in either ! http://www.delta-club-82.com/forum/images/divers/louis5.gif and http://www.flickr.com/photos/psucvollibre/6010899238/ https://farm7.static...

Re: Releases

Tad, The columns of the following table represent, in order: L/A ratio maximum permissible tow tension to remain within the 25 pound actuation requirement maximum load tested (also tested at all lower graduations) --- 20.4 - 1020 - 300.0 - barrel 16.1 - 0806 - 300.0 - shackle (Wichard 2673) Please, ...

Weak links

WL & BEING DRAGGED A weak link should break quickly in the event the glider impacts the ground to prevent further injury by being dragged by the tow vehicle. Tad This is a job for a release - not a weak link. AND On a grass strip you are WAY better off if your weak link holds and you are dragge...

Re: Releases

Thanks again Tad and sorry for the confusion. I would say no 2 points (glider+pilot) in France (except our and another club), some 1 point with bridle and barrel, and lot of 1 point with a Wichard. And, if we put the factory installed lanyard back on, it kicks the barrel's ass - only requiring about...

Re: Releases

You tested several releases and on mousetraps, you wrote that: The columns of the following table represent, in order: L/A ratio maximum permissible tow tension to remain within the 25 pound actuation requirement maximum load tested (also tested at all lower graduations) --- barrels: 06.2 - 0310 - 2...
