Re: Welcome / About This Forum

Hey Zack... Is it possible to set this forum up such that registration can only be effected after obtaining permission? There's an 'Account activation' setting under 'User registration settings' in the Administration Control Panel. If you set it to 'By admin', new accounts will be inactive until yo...

Re: instructors and other qualified pilot fiends

I doubt you can pick up a virus just visiting a forum - especially one you don't even log into. It actually is possible (by exploiting browser/plug-in vulnerabilities). I'm sure not seeing any problems but I'm using a Mac. No problems here either under Windows 7 with Opera 12.11, IE 9.0.11, and Fir...

Re: Weak links

- Maybe you DID test the Greenspot installed on bridle material and got the same 130 pound average everybody else does. - So to save face after publishing that idiot article with the claim of 260 pounds you found out you could up the blow point to 230 by installing it on fat smooth quick links. Tad...

I (or Tad) can sticky the topic (so it'll always appear first), but it's already high on the Google rankings for 'Towing Aloft'.

Re: Surface towing for teaching

And your trim setting wasn't preventing you from nosing up on your launch attempt any more than it does on an aero launch or flight when your pitch attitude is a helluva lot higher than it ever got on this effort. Tad, gliders aerotowing two point usually have their keel attachment point set to tri...

I guess the hook knife is my second release? Or is that third release, with the weaklink being a second?

Re: instructors and other qualified pilot fiends

Based on the way that thread is going, I don't think hang gliding is ready for the revolutionary concept of weak links on both shoulders. If two instructors at two flight parks think such a configuration somehow doubles the links' breaking strengths, we're even worse off than I thought. (Not sure wh...
