08. So what would've happened if there had been a line dig and all the line didn't pull off?

What is a line dig?

If the towline isn't rewound back on the drum under some tension, firmly, evenly then upon payout the line can jam between underlying strands and your payout tow instantly becomes a static tow and the glider's gonna experience a surge in tension.
- A weak link CAN blow in response but there's no guarantee.
- Having the weak link blow at that point is far from a certain desirable response.
- I don't know of any incidents of anyone being trashed as a consequence of a dig.
