In three point towing, 1/2 the energy is transmitted to the glider, 1/2 to you.
Now that is just too fucking funny, Jim!

Basically what happens is, when the tension disappears, the glider climbs to a deep stall, the nose drops severely... and gathers rotational inertia, with very little airspeed for the glider's pitch stability systems to damp the rotation, and it goes past-center and tumbles.
In other words, the weak link increasing the safety of the towing operation.

Higher tow pressures also increase the likelihood or at least the severity of a lockout situation, too...
You are still an idiot, Ryan.

An investigation is under way to review the facts and produce an accident report.

An investigation is under way to review the facts and produce an accident report which will be secreted away from the general pilot population.
Fixed it for you Mark

Not completely - "under way" is one word. Also... This wasn't an accident.

The base bar isn't able to go to the right, primarily because of the left side wire.
1 - Primarily?
2 - That's the point you idiot.
Tension on that wire might be increased, but the cross-bar/leading-edge junction isn't pulled toward the corner bracket, primarily because of the upper side wire running to the kingpost.
What have you been smoking, Ryan?
