Compare/Contrast...

- The New Caledonian Crow is given a straight piece of metal which won't do the job she needs it to until she bends it.

- The aerotow professional is given a bent piece of metal...

I have a tandem rating!!!
Lauren Tjaden - 2008/03/23 22:20:15 UTC

The barrel release wouldn't work because we had too much pressure on it.

Anyhow, the tandem can indeed perform big wingovers, as I demonstrated when I finally got separated from the tug.

barrels release without any tension except weight of rope..
Bart Weghorst - 2011/02/25 19:06:26 UTC

I've had it once where the pin had bent inside the barrel from excessive tow force. My weaklink was still intact. The tug pilot's weaklink broke so I had the rope. I had to use two hands to get the pin out of the barrel.

No stress because I was high.

Mitt Romney - 2012/08/30

President Obama promised to begin to slow the rise of the oceans and heal the planet. My promise is to help you and your family.
I want EVERYONE to raise five kids and have big cars to haul them around in and lotsa cheap gas. My promise is to SPEED UP the rise of the oceans so the drive to the beach will be a lot shorter and the water temperature will be a lot more comfortable.

And fuck the planet. There's another perfectly good one in the next orbit. All the life giving carbon dioxide you could hope for, a desert landscape that would make all the Salt Lake City folk feel right at home, and promising indications of water. And getting there is a piece of cake - as we just demonstrated less than four weeks ago.

Lights went out about fifteen minutes after my previous post (2012/10/29 20:59:53 UTC). Got them back at 16:23:14 EDT - a bit over twenty-three hours of cold dark boredom. Winds here never got worse than those two short cycles. Really dodged the bullet this time.

No shortage of death and destruction elsewhere though. Really hoping these things don't start becoming routine.

Hey Mitt,

Wanna really do something to help people and their families? Start thinking about strategies for slowing the rise of the oceans and healing the fucking planet. (And don't rule out the concept of smaller families.)

Asshole.

Wild turkeys at McClure! There are 3 of them, a mother and 2 children. They are in the lz sometimes at daybreak. They roost in the tops of the pine trees about 40 ft up. They fly straight up to roost. Hope no one gets them for Thanksgiving.
