Hang Gliding - Dune Gooning, Low Level Flying - Sandown Point, Bulli NSW Australia
MrAndrew1101 - 2010/11/15

A strong NE blowing into Sandown (Sandon) Point Reserve brought out the dune gooners and their three Fun 190s. Coincidentally we all have very similar glider colours.

In this clip Trev leads off first and shows his skill, I approach more cautiously being relatively new at flying close to the ground (still finding my wings so to speak). At one stage I practised a new skill of flying close to the water after slipping out of the very tight lift band.
I'm thinking "Trev" is Trevor Scott - who's gonna buy it 2015/01/24 - a couple months over four years from now - a few miles northwest of Ballarat. Full report should be coming out any day now. Until it does though please continue to refrain from speculation out of respect for his family.

This is a compilation video, and not everything in it is interesting. But among a few sequences there is a towing operation, starting at 8:08 :o

We had that one - and the other/previous two short clips of the series - pretty early in our history:

thanks to Steve. (Stupid tandem thrill rider. Thinks a towing safety device SUCCESS is a hang glide FAIL.)

Thanks to 8:23 we have the scene of the crimes - twenty crowflight miles ENE of where Lenami would be dropped a few months later - 2012/04/28. Is this a great sport or what! ('Specially for tandem thrill riders.)

All those hang glider clips (others being 1:58, 4:17, 5:45, 6:28) are useful and the blown cliff launch is a total gem. If anyone stumbles across the sources...

Happy Solstice - 2019/12/22 04:19 UTC - everyone. I'm sure Australia will be more than happy to have the sun start moving in the other direction.
