Re: Weak links

(Thanks Brian, I wouldn't have thought of that one otherwise.) Thank you for the work spent harvesting them all. Hmmm... The glider doesn't seem to be yawing to starboard as much as one might hope it would in this particular situation. http://c1.staticflickr.com/1/785/26322782587_61b1d4694a_o.png I...

Re: Weak links

Yeah but that's a garden variety, grass fed, late bloomer propwash from Down Under. Probably spawned by a Blue head 582. Totally different critter than the newly discovered, cement hardened, Big Spring early variety.
Again this is the first time we have experienced prop wash while on the carts.

Re: Weak links

I propose a prop wash/hold-down test. Passengers hold tightly to the cart hold-downs as a wing is lifted enough to raise a front wheel. Duplicate the test on the other side to insure adequate grip on both sides. Failures go to the back of the line.

Re: Weak links

Different strokes... I don't agree that Wallaby Ranch promotes nose high launch's Maybe they feel that it initiates or optimizes the keel coming out of the keel stand? I always hated too high a keel stand as if the PIC did not resist first and then pull into trim (or hold at trim for said wing type...

Re: Weak links

Pilots will find that Power Steering is available to them if they will develop the habit of leading with their feet and hips instead of their shoulders. Look how well he leads with his feet and hips to actuate the right roll. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48585813356_c5480fa945_c.jpg https://...

Re: Weak links

Note in the two frames above the "dugout" for the keel on the bottom edge of the support. Looks like somebody had an idea that looked good on paper. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48585817301_edc420a156_c.jpg That's the old plumber's version for wrenching on keels. https://c1.staticf...

Re: Weak links

Looks like a wing responding appropriately to control inputs.

PS I think I see indicators showing light cross from right. Maybe a planned diagonal takeoff path.

Re: launching

(correct me if I'm wrong) No, that's what happened. I couldn't embed that video, so I assumed you had. I hit quote to see what had been done that I hadn't tried. Never did see what it was. Maybe it was just a glitch. Anyway, in the quote mode I added the PSs and submitted. Then I edited out my quot...

Re: Weak links

My Russian mouth release would have allowed me to release at the 4 second mark. I haven't used it because it never seemed necessary until now. Odds are in your favor it'll never seem necessary again. I dunno... He flies a helluva lot and seems to be becoming markedly stupider with each passing year...

It's a common hang gliding term. We talk about them all the time. Also in lotsa sci-fi movies. And here I was thinking you'd been at an around all this plenty long enough to understand what's what and who's who.
This is more of a when's when thing.
