Re: flying
I agree with everything Tad said. I was light on my first wing (Horizon) (not to get something that would keep me up higher and longer but because the model was new and Northwing hadn't settled on the weight range yet...) and after that I resolved to be in the upper half of the recommended weight ra...
Re: landing
He held onto both downtubes and his body momemtum carried him through the tubes breaking both arms. I saw and heard this in excruciating detail. Later, I was told to let go of the down tubes and swing through or hide behind one tube to prevent broken arms. Do you think that pilot had never been tol...

Take a minimally loaded Sport 2 155 - flying weight 210 pounds - USHGA recommended weak link 210 pounds. Max certified operating weight is 310 pounds. Minimum FAA legal weak link 248 pounds. So USHGA's recommendation is that you violate the FAA minimum by 38 pounds, that you fly at 0.68 percent of ...

Re: Weak links
Where'd the post go? Who's aglia? You got the original? Aglia apparently deleted it while I was writing a response. I deleted my post shortly after making it when I realized his post was gone since it was a reply to a non-existent post. I then sent the same response to aglia privately since I alrea...

Re: Weak links
Really good - unplagiarized - analogy. I've often thought of trying to use the air bag for one but I never figured out how to express it really well. Good, yes. Unplagiarized, hell no! Dumbing down the weak link to compensate for a crap release makes even less sense than packing your air bag system...

Good stuff, Tad. Hope you don't mind the blatant plagiarism in my response.

So my suggestion is, don't break your weak link and it won't cause you any problems.

Re: Weak links
If it's "some member" - singular - then why is he referred to as "they"? To obscure gender...he was talking about one person. Not me...someone who mainly flies at the lake. Launches are pretty consistent among HHPA members (not hard with platform...), and given the relative safe...
