Re: LMFP Release Dysfunction
...I and other responsible people have, he shipped a copy to Wills Wing in hopes that they'd do his job for him. When that didn't work the lying sonuvabitch conned ME down to his lair so I'D do his job for him. It actually bench tested pretty well but it was still an overbuilt piece o' crap. I gues...

Re: LMFP Release Dysfunction
I do not know anything about the LMFP release other than some people report having problems with it, in certain situations. I saw Diev's response as logical and what worked for him. He did not present himself as an all-knowing expert. From where I sit, all hg towing releases have some sort of issue....

Re: LMFP Release Dysfunction
It was a fine, fine weekend. The temps were in the 70s. (Normal temps are 90s and 100s) I could not force myself to sit inside and tap on a keyboard.
I have not forgotten and will get something up.

Re: Do Tad's words dilute his message?
I like Tad's posts. There is something to be learned in all of them. He does not kow tow, in reverence, to the so called gods of hang gliding. I have no problem to the length of them. It is refreshing to read the links and examples of the many points that he makes. That said, I do not care for the f...

Re: LMFP Release Dysfunction
I'll write up something on Sat.
I have flown with Diev before and he is not the asshat you make him to be.

Re: LMFP Release Dysfunction
The one time I was hoping for long and detailed, it is short and succinct. It was not negative either, so I guess this is a step in the right direction

Re: landing
I have flown Yosemite once, so I am far from an expert. The lz is usually underwater in the spring. This spring followed an epic wet season, so the lz is very wet. Most new pilots get a briefing about the lz at launch. It is not visible from launch or the normal drive up to launch. When I flew there...

Ryan Voight - 2011/06/22 02:57:33 UTC Point of the Mountain Russ isn't the *current* USHPA pres... but yes, he did have a crash landing at Yosemite. The report I heard was he missed the DT while transitioning, and hit the uphill side of the ditch that runs across the field. Russ is good people... I...
