Re: Quotes

This is STUNNING. Gil Dodgen - 1995/01 All of this reminds me of a comment Mike Meier made when he was learning to fly sailplanes. He mentioned how easy it was to land a sailplane (with spoilers for glide-path control and wheels), and then said, "If other aircraft were as difficult to land as ...

Re: instructors and other qualified pilot fiends

Proned out means pilot is horizontal with hands on the control bar.

Maybe proned out is west coast slang.

These are my final words on the subject.

Re: instructors and other qualified pilot fiends

A few years back, I saw someone actually soar Dockweiler in the Condor... But your response doesn't address the question. http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/19/193ef2ed9c38c0c9e7ec45d04f6ab0b05c19a69219da42c0d3673e023c343a3a.jpg Pruning my words to fit your agenda :o You should be a political hack. Re: instructors and other qualified pilot fiends

Has anybody ever documented a Grebloville Beach "flight" during which a hand contacted a basetube? A few years back, I saw someone actually soar Dockweiler in the Condor. The pilot was proned out, soaring the 'ridge'. The wind was about 12 to 15, smooth and laminar. I snapped a few pics, ...

I am impressed. I still think your criticism of Red was misplaced. Not to demean your accomplishments, This is what I meant by: You need to get out in the real world. http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt20/mattshoe/2009/Crawfords%207-18-09/DSC06168.jpg http://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4471/36...

Re: suspension

My Comet is retired so no need for special knots. The sharpie gave me many years of good flying. I have straightened all sorts of parts in various branches of various trees. It works. I never had any problems with any of the parts that I straightened. There are all sorts of DIY repairs on CF parts. ...

Re: suspension

A basetube that has visited the straightening tree, a few times, is a good candidate for an internal cable. Likewise a DIY repair on a CF basetube. Hang straps tied directly to the keel do move. I marked the keel with a sharpie. It made cg adjustments easier. Red's solution is overkill but is viable...

Re: Weak links

I am not a tow pilot, and although Donnell's system made sense to me I was forced to discontinue the series. The essence of his system was a double bridle that connected to the glider and to the pilot . This system would thus pull the pilot back on line in the event that the glider was inadvertentl...
