Re: launching

Go back up and fake it. Nope...That one took about a year off my life. :D One thing I was wondering about though is that I don't pop off the cart like others do. I can feel the glider rotate and just get lighter until it gently lifts off. My concern is that there might come a time when I want to se...

Re: launching

I can't figure out why people want to make AT such a workout. The WW Eagle was the slowest glider I've ever towed with and the bar was extremely heavy w/ a 2 point setup. (I don't remember how far forward I had the upper attachment...Maybe 18"???) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpYdb-aIn6I http...

Re: landing

I put several years of hard work into getting a stable and reliable drogue chute into production... I believe I sent you a request to be put on the list of people interested in buying one. I'm going to be using an old WW Eagle for flying some of our tighter LZs like Templeton & High Point for t...

Re: landing

The conditions at launch were 0-7 mph straight in from the West. You could launch in a thermal if you wanted some initial airspeed. Conditions in the LZ were nearly dead. Most of us with our cars on top decided to bag it. The pilot was a left coast visitor flying a S2 135-C. I'm guessing his hook in...

Re: ADVISORIES

I suspect that the issue can be eliminated by threading a length of line though both hollow rivets and then tying the free ends together thus forming a loop. That is a more elegant & creative solution than anything I've been able to come up with. Bravo! http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f312/dl...

Re: ADVISORIES

I had an issue with the Russian Mouth Release two days ago. It could be easily repeatable. please contact me so I can explain what happened. It is too long and complicated to write it out. I have already let Davis Straub know, and I'm trying to get ahold of Aleksey. Br**o I received the above messa...

Re: ADVISORIES

I just received an E-mail regarding the failure of a Russian Mouth Release. It was a failure to release malfunction. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f312/dlg208/IMG_1818%20copy_zpsyfzed8kx.jpg The following message preceded the attached picture: it has to do with the pivot pin with the hole in it....

Rumor is, it was a low turn to final & he touched his wingtip.

Re: Weak links

So what DID you preflight? List the stuff you found more important. It was an unsecured line. Who gives a flying fuck HOW it caught? I see a slack "down" line so often it makes me seriously wonder. The up line, retracting bungee is an often overlooked component that requires periodic repl...
